Teri “Lyric” Green was born on December 30 in 1981. She attended Simeon Career Academy where she obtained her diploma in the area of Commercial arts. She then attended Westwood College where she obtained a dual bachelors degree in the areas of Computer Science and Computer Engineering. She interned at WGNTV channel 9 in Chicago while studying. By the mere age of 24 she found great success by being employed at WLEY 107.9 FM as the Assistant Chief Engineer in downtown Chicago. Even though Teri loved computers her passion was her poetry. She began writing at the age of eleven. Teri is the CEO of Julian Technologies, LLC which is a technology company that prides in helping the public. She is also employed at SunGard Availability Services, and Weigel Broadcasting (WCIU the U) in Chicago where she continues to work as a computer engineer.
Teri literally went from Orphan to Engineer. She went thru Jane Adams Hull House were she emancipated at the age of 21. With an unfortunate hand being dealt she was and still is inspired by poets such as Maya Angelou, and Nikki Giovanni, Indie Arie, and Lauren Hill. She read their stories and realized life doesn’t end because of tragedy instead it was based on choices.
Teri’s past gave her the fuel to succeed and strive to be better than what others perceived her to be. Her famous quote is “It’s not where you come from, but where you decide to go”. This quote reminds her that she does not look like the hell that she has been through, and that troubles never last always. Teri has mixed her love for technology, writing, and music in one creating a sound uniquely different yet popish and neo soul. Her music is defined with truth, passion, pain, and love telling stories that only lies within her.
Teri now resides in Chicago Ridge, IL, and she has no children. Her poems are more like testaments and as she preaches she entertains as well as informs making her a very profound speaker that’s enjoyable to watch. When Teri “Lyric” Green was asked what helps her define her chosen name, she replied, “I am the voice of the unheard that refuses to be silent; I am the strength for the weak who has no clue how to fight back. I am softly crafted words formulated together creating Lyric.”

Lauren Hill, Indie Arie, and Lyfe Jennings. I admire these artist because they allowed there voice to be heard even when ears seemed to be deaf. They never allowed the obstacles of life to place them on hold only hold their position open and they walked right into it.
